Shoes for Haiti..
One of the many ongoing issues the Orphanage Directors have is the availability of shoes for so many kids. While it is necessary for the kids to wear shoes as much as possible when playing or working outdoors it is often difficult to justify spending what limited funds are available on footwear when there are emergency issues such as medical, food, and education.
But today is a great day because we get to thank See Kai Run of Woodinville, WA for generously donating 140 pairs (yes, 140 pairs!) of brand new shoes in all sizes. These shoes will be distributed and happily worn by the many orphaned kids at Orphanage Foyer d’Orelph.
Pictures will come soon!
Want to know more about See Kai Run?
See Kai Run® is a family-owned and operated business located outside of Seattle, Washington. The idea was born when founder Cause Haun was on a quest for the perfect first pair of shoes for her son, Kai. Unable to find shoes in fun, cutting edge styles that still promoted the healthy development of growing feet, she created her own line of shoes that satisfied all of these needs.
In November 2004, See Kai Run shoes began arriving in specialty children’s boutiques, mostly in the Seattle area. The response was phenomenal. Parents echoed what she knew all along—there was an unmet need for stylish outdoor baby shoes that had flexible soles.
In 2008, See Kai Run introduced its answer to the soft-soled baby bootie with the birth of Smaller®, giving parents another option for outfitting their little ones. Smaller combines the same quality materials and urban flair as its bigger counterpart, but with the unstructured softness of a bootie.
All of our shoes meet the American Podiatric Medical Association’s rigorous standards for foot health and functionality and have been awarded the APMA’s prestigious Seal of Acceptance.
Since its inception, See Kai Run has seen sales expand from a few local boutiques, to retailers all around the country and worldwide.
MMRC would like to thank Operations Manager, Paul Ehlen, for his amazing vision in wanting safe footwear for all children, as well as See Kai Run founders, Cause Haun and Chen Gang.
